What kind of shape do I need to be in?
You need not be in top physical condition to start classes. One of the benefits to Karate is the slow progressive conditioning with improved strength and flexibility.

How do I start classes?
Contact the Branson Sports Club at bransonsportsclub@yahoo.com or call 417-334-5927. You may also contact the instructor, Vashon Borich, at 417-231-3697. You are welcome to watch any class before you start training. Parents are always welcome.

What will I learn?
You will learn a well rounded program of kicking, hand techniques, throws and control techniques.
Most important is the development of a mental attitude of confidence in oneself and one’s ability.
We are a complete art and use of strikes, kicks, throws, pressure points, joint locks and weapons (higher ranks). The program is known for strong, low stances, dynamic hip motions and extremely precise techniques. The system is designed to improve the mind, body, and spirit.
Karate, builds confidence and self-esteem as well as self-discipline, respect, concentration and courtesy. It helps build leadership skills. It's ideal for children who do not do well in team sports, as it gives them the ability to flourish, while combining physical and mental practices. Many do not realize this, but it is a fact that martial arts training is safer than most school sports. Children with special needs, such as ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), learning difficulties and hyperactivity are often recommended to participate in karate because of the clear benefits in its structured training techniques. Of course, it is fantastic for self-defense and protection!
